Man in Bar Brawl Freed
A 22 year old man accused of slashing two bar patrons with jagged glass after slapping a bartender on February 8 was acquitted by a Superior Court jury. Baker testified he did not know he had broken glass in his hand during a fight at a bar on Anaheim Street. Two other men, Earl R Black and Joseph T Keehan, suffered facial and head cuts as they tried to break up the quarrel between Baker and bar owner Bernice Myers. The jury deliberated under two hours before acquitting Baker on two assault counts.
