Couple Killed as Car Runs Signal Light
A young couple died Tuesday night in a traffic crash at the Orange Herre Boulevard Grand Avenue intersection when the car driven by Miss Thelma Krause ran a red light. Richard Walter Murray died shortly after at Fullerton Cottage Hospital. Gerald Dean Peoples, driver of the other car, was unhurt. The impact hurled the occupants from Krause’s car and demolished a telephone booth at the gas station.

A speeding car crossed the double line and hit a Greyhound bus chartered by a band, killing the driver Miles J. Murray Jr. of San Francisco. The bus collision injured several band members, legs and arms reported, as investigators piece together the crash timing and sequence. In related military notes, nine U N soldiers were killed or wounded following an air attack on a bridge on the western front at 0610 hours May 20, 1953, with unknown aircraft and casualties. An investigation was ordered.
