Rogation Days Observed by Episcopal Parishes
Rogation Days from the fifth Sunday after Easter are noted by many Episcopal parishes especially in rural areas. Dating to at least 1300 years ago they are times of prayer for livestock and crops. Processions form in church and march to farms for blessings of seed crops and laborers for God. The church in the United States inherited the practice from England and others have adopted it. Rogation prayers are offered at services on the four days.
