Clear Weather Ahead for Southern California Five Day Outlook
The Weather Bureau forecast clear conditions across Southern California for the next five days with some late night and early morning fog near ground level. Student Teacher Die in Bus Trailer Crash
A bus carrying high school students was sideswiped by a case trailer northeast of Wellington Kansas, killing 32 year old music teacher Robert Purcell and 14 year old Rosa Lind Phillips of Valley Center. Eight Million for Long Beach VA Hospital Phase

One killed and one slightly injured in a 2 a.m. Army airplane crash near Coleman Texas about one third of a mile east of the Coleman airport. The pilot was 1st Lt. James W. Two suspects, Carl Mack Keeton 30 and Eugene Christopher 17, were arrested after a high-speed chase and held on robbery charges. Christopher admitted the service station robbery. $21 and four benzodiazepine tablets were found during a room search.
