Spider in jet gear lands with deaf cat home
In Montgomery Alabama a cat named Spider stowed away in the nose landing gear of a T33 jet trainer bound for Greenville Mississippi. The cat, owned by M/Sgt Edward J Spaulding of Maxwell Air Force Base, rode the aircraft to 40 000 feet at 550 mph before rescue. A base veterinarian reported the cat temporarily deaf but otherwise fine and asked how to return it to its owner.
