Marine seeks discharge after wife leaves him with children
Waukegan police said Marine Sergeant Philip Carter, 27, the father of three children aged 5, 8, and 2, plans to apply for a hardship discharge after his wife Edith, 27, left their home with the youngsters. Police reported no provision to remove the children immediately, and Carter remains attached to the Naval Training Center in Great Lakes. He stated he would press for the discharge to care for the kids amid the family disruption.
