Children Camp Programs to Be Larger This Summer
Long Beach records show 5000 children attended mountain camps last year but many more could not go due to funding gaps. The Community Welfare Council plans expanded camp scholarships and a centralized clearing house to prevent duplicate awards while ensuring needs are met. Agencies including Boys Clubs, Boy Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, CYO, Jewish Council, YMCA, YWCA and others will participate.
