City College women’s social clubs host a combined 8:30 p m event in the Women’s Gymnasium to welcome new members. Dr Paul Samuel Smith president of Whittier College spoke at the Long Beach Area Chapter Whittier Alumni Association banquet held at the Lafayette Hotel Supper Room. He met Senator Richard Wixon in the Capital and planned a New York conference with Herbert Hoover. Mabel Rice also spoke.
