A 350 foot stainless steel Christ statue proposed near Albuquerque would face the sun by rotating daily and serve as the centerpiece of a spiritual and cultural center. George Mason said the project, backed by over 100 religious and cultural leaders, could cost 1 to 3 million dollars depending on site and plans. The center would host Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish worship spaces and an amphitheater for 15,000 with land offered in the Sandia Mountains.
