North Dakota primary tilt shows Democratic uptick
In Fargo and across the state the Democratic Party trails Republicans two to one in North Dakota's primary. The nonpartisan Liberal GOP faction aligned with Democrats this year, pitting John Davis against Ray Schnell in the governor race. Davis led Schnell about three to two with about a third of precincts counted. Wallace Warner stands unchallenged for the Democrats in the general. In Congress, Milton Young and Reps. Burdick and Kreuger, all Republicans, were sure winners with Young facing Quentin Neurdick in November, marking a father and son split in the race.
