North Korea Builds 580-Plane Air Force, 25,000-Strong Army

Reds Blast 2 Planes and Down One at Sea

TAIPEI Tuesday report says Russian pilots flew MiGs that shot down a Nationalist T33 trainer near Matsu Island and attacked an unarmed fishing plane over the Formosa Strait. One American, Lt. John J. A U.S. jet intercepted a British bomber during an atomic air drill near Ramstein. Six Britons died as the four engined Lincoln was cut in two. Lt. William H. Dulles to Fly to Bangor for White House Talks

Secretary of State Dulles planned to fly to Bangor Maine this afternoon for a briefing with President Eisenhower on foreign policy issues including the Soviet downing of an American plane and the UN anniversary meeting in San Francisco. Crashes Kill Seven in District and Orange County

Seven people died in traffic crashes in the Long Beach area and Orange County Sunday into Monday. In one crash two Long Beach residents died on Brea Canyon Road near Belleview, while another head-on collision near Wilmington claimed three more. Victims named include Ruby Shook, Edward Freletz, Violetta Flores, her son Juan, Joan Gugliano, Paul Camarillo, Theresa Flores, and others, with multiple injuries reported and responders detailing hospital transpor t and conditions. President Eisenhower fishes at Maine welcome event

President Eisenhower, upbeat after a weekend of fishing, heads to Skowhegan to be greeted by Governor Edmund Muskie, the first Democrat Maine chief executive in two decades. He fished six hours on Sunday at Magalloway River, catching salmon and trout including an 18-inch salmon he released, with trout averaging 10 to 12 inches and stored for breakfast.
