More FHA Officials Face Probe of Drinking, Kissing
The Senate Civil Service Committee considers reopening its three day hearing into the Farmers Home Administration amid the resignation of its chief Robert B. McLeaish on charges of heavy drinking and on the job politicking. McLeaish denied the accusations as he left a $14,800 post after three years. The probe could include other FHA officials as executive director W. Brawley said. The hearing touched on alleged kissing of agency employees' wives and personal letter writing claims connected to former secretary Hansen and secretary aide Kathryn Carter of Bozeman Montana.
