Anti-smog provisions in federal housing bill
The two anti-smog provisions were added by Sens Kuchel and Capehart. They would fund a Health, Education and Welfare research program with 5 million dollars and offer 50 million dollars to assist industry in installing smoke-eating equipment. Loans would be provided on a participating basis with state loan caps of 5 million dollars. The Senate Finance Committee planned another session on tax revision and Kuchel's tax write-off proposal for pollution-control devices.
