In Pittsburgh a 25 year old Negro mother gave birth to quadruplets, the only boy dying shortly after noon. The three girls remain in fair condition. The mother Mrs Ruth Hurd had been admitted for a quad delivery months earlier. Father Rudolph Hurd, seen smoking a large cigar, commented on the surprise of having four children instead of twins.
