No Hand Signal Required If Car Has Functioning Turn Indicator
Sacramento July 29. California Highway Patrol Commissioner Clifford E. Peterson stated that drivers with approved lamp type signaling devices are not required to use hand signals. The Vehicle Code allows hand signals, lamp signals, or mechanical devices, and only one method is needed to show turning or stopping intent in ample time to prevent accidents. No specific lamp shape is required and the word stop need not be etched on stop lamp lenses.
