Legionnaire Hits Negroes as Delegates
The national vice commander of the American Legion condemned Negro delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Dallas. Everett Page of Carthage Texas faulted a NAACP-CIO coalition for placing three Negroes on the Dallas delegates list and said he refused a delegate post to avoid sitting with them. He criticized Eisenhower’s foreign aid and urged focus on veterans benefits. The Mississippi Legion convention ends Wednesday.

Farm Prices Jump Sixth Straight Month
The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago reports farm prices rose for the sixth consecutive month through mid June with an 11 percent gain since December, reaching the best parity level in over a year. Prices may ease later, but not as sharply as in 1955, aided by the soil bank program and surplus disposal efforts. Also in Seoul, eleven new U.S. streetcars arrive as part of aid, the first of 75 ships to Korea.
