Truman to Call for More Armed Funds
Washington reports say President Truman will ask Congress next week for additional military funding to support Korea. The request likely focuses on expanding voluntary enlistments and, if needed, the draft, and will be separate from the year’s $14.68 billion military appropriation. Senators expect prompt action to meet rising armed strength.
