Theft of $810000 Charged to Chinese

New York police arrested Ku Chih Chang a 45 year old Chinese businessman on a grand larceny charge in connection with the alleged theft of 810000 in Nationalist funds intended for surplus war supplies. Nationalist officials say Chang received three checks from Gen Pang Tsu Mow, who fled to Mexico in 1951, and that the two schemed to juggle figures to steal for themselves. Detectives said part of the funds may be in a Swiss bank and a suit had been filed in Los Angeles earlier this year. Gen Mow is jailed in Mexico awaiting extradition to Formosa for embezzlement charges.
