In Los Angeles a 33 year old divorcee and mother of three boys was found strangled in a Bel Air mansion. Police say she returned home around 12 30 am from a party and was attacked in her bedroom. Her three sons slept through the incident.

German Bomb Parcel Kills Two in Schwabing Post Office
A bomb parcel exploded today in the Schwabing suburb near Munich at a post office, killing two and injuring 20. Police do not know the addressee. Schwabing is an artists’ colony. A similar parcel once targeted Konrad Adenauer, causing one death and four injuries.
Calif. Fliers Lead Powder Puff Derby Finishers
Two California women Mrs. Isabelle McCrae of Lemon Grove and Mrs. Betty McNeil of La Mesa led the ninth Powder Puff Derby finishing 1:09 p.m. at Long Beach Municipal Airport after a 2,800 mile flight. Eleven other entries landed Friday at Springvietn, with 28 more expected Wednesday. The outcome will be determined by a handicap system announced tonight amid a crowd of 2,000.
