Land Fraud Bared Nine Men Indicted

Nine men face 68 counts of conspiracy and mail fraud in a $2.3 million land swindle. Indicted in federal court are Arthur L. Harris and son, Arthur Jr., plus eight salesmen tied to the Transcontinental Land and Water Co and Continental Sub divisions Inc. The scheme allegedly sold Rocket Town lots near China Lake. Also pictured, Assemblyman G Delbert Morris was booked on perjury and conspiracy charges.

Indicted Assemblyman Faces Liquor License Probe

SAN DIEGO California Assemblyman G Delbert Morris was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of perjury and one count of conspiracy in a liquor license inquiry. Co defendants include Charles E Berry and Leonard Wilson, with Berry already imprisoned for related bribery cases. Morris pledges innocence and awaits a preliminary hearing.
