House to Approve Income Tax Cut On Feb Sixteenth
Washington AP Reed chairman of the Ways and Means Committee said the panel will approve a bill cutting income tax rates by 11 percent starting June 30 and that it will pass before February ends. He warned opponents, said no hearings and planned to block floor amendments. Treasury may appear Feb 16. Mills said Reed has the votes. Revenue loss projected at about 1.8 billion for the year. Tragic Woman Tries Suicide After Killing Pet Dog
A 50 year old woman Mrs Charlotte Kennedy of 539 Melrose Way attempted suicide after feeding her dog sleeping pills. The dog a Pekinese died Monday night despite veterinary efforts. Police report no motive. Custodian George Wilderman found the dog and notified police. The woman was taken to Seaside Hospital in serious condition.
