Floral Pageant Draws 1 300 000 For Tournament Of Roses
One six mile parade route featured five floral peacocks guarding a $10 000 entry as Miss Universe Long Beach won a theme prize in the 63rd annual pageant. The Southern California Floral Association won the sweepstakes with Dreams of the Future. The bridal garden scene used over 29 000 roses and 28 000 carnations with 15 000 sweetpeas.
