Barbiturate Curbs Sought by California Pharmacists
The California Pharmaceutical Assn proposes a complete revision of state pharmacy laws and tighter controls on barbiturate sales. Eugene M. Elson urged higher penalties for unlawful distribution, restricted prescription quantities, and limits on ownership to registered pharmacists. The plan includes intern type training and creating an assistant secretary post for the State Board of Pharmacy, noting half of California's registered pharmacists are in Southern California.
