Child Slayer Goes to Death Very Quietly
Henry Ford McCrackerty a 37 year old musician was executed in the San Quentin gas chamber for the 1951 sex slay of a 10 year old Buena Park girl Patricia Hull. He walked from death row 13 minutes after a last minute plea was denied. The warden said he went very quietly as 14 observers watched. McCracken spoke with his attorney George Chula before and after. Eisenhower changes golf course to Thunderbird Ranch Palm Springs
President Eisenhower shifted his action today from Tamarisk Country Club to the Thunderbird Ranch and Country Club in Palm Springs. He worked 8 to 9:30 a.m. in a temporary Smoke Tree Ranch office and will sign 24 bills Saturday with the press present. Hagerty said no one from Washington is visiting. He will stay in Palm Springs at least until Monday and has declined West Coast invitations. His golfing party includes Dawson, Hoffman, Helms, and other Thunderbird members from Thursday’s round.

Mrs Mildred Hammond 34 wife of Laurens Hammond inventor and founder of the Hammond organ company fell from a third floor window of their North Side apartment today. The bereaved family, including daughter Polly, were asleep in the unit. Coroner Joseph Tigerman said she had been in ill health and had recently returned from a six week voyage in Europe.

Anne Sterling collapses after pill incident in Hollywood
Blond actress Anne Sterling was found unconscious by two deputies in Hollywood. A pill bottle and an empty box lay by her bed as doctors pumped her stomach. She was listed in critical condition, later transferred to Temple Hospital. no hospital records show her name. Police say she notified her physician after taking pills and a call to police followed. Sterling, previously linked to assault allegations against oilman Bob Calhoun, had a 1945 annulment from Tommy Warner Jr. and a prior marriage in Tijuana on Oct 11, 1944.
