Army perfects rapid-fire gadget for mass vaccines
The Army reports a pistol shaped jet injector for rapid mass vaccinations. It uses a hydraulic pump to fire a vaccine jet through skin in about one second with two triggers for reload and discharge. Inductees found it less painful than a needle. Developed under Army Medical Service guidance at Walter Reed and Cleveland labs, still in research.
