Spurned woman shoots man then kills herself
A 30-year-old divorcee, Zora Simone, shot 26-year-old Robert Gourley after a demand for a goodbye kiss, injuring him seriously before killing herself. Gourley, a Cicero bank employee, reported being dumped for their two month dating prior to the incident in Berwyn. He told police she met him, asked a ride home, and as he leaned in to kiss her, she fired.

Washington The House ways and means committee proposed moving individual tax returns to April 15 starting next year affecting about 55 million taxpayers. The change aims to relieve pressure on taxpayers accountants and lawyers during January through March. Two masked bandits tied and gagged a woman clerk at Avalon Village Co rental office 462 E 1231st St Keystone and escaped east on 251st St with about 7000 from the safe. Clerk Esther Irene Williams 37 reported a .45 caliber weapon, and the suspects fled after tying and gagging her. a witness, Emma Mc Carroll, saw them leave. Williams described the men as light complexioned, early 30s, 5 foot 10 to 6 feet, 150 pounds each.

20 Year Crime Career Ex-Con Turned Pastor Held
The FBI says Alexander George Patterson an ex convict turned minister has cashed worthless checks totaling about 575,000 across at least eight cities since 1949. He was seized in Wheaton on a Baltimore warrant for a bogus 125 dollar check. Patterson’s record dates to 1916 with prison terms for forgery impersonation and bogus checks. He formerly led churches in Gooding Idaho and Portland Oregon.
