Youth Pinned in Wreckage at Santa Ana
A Santa Ana youth died when his car struck a second auto head on after clipping a machine he was passing. In Orange County five others were injured in crashes including a sequence at Sunset Beach. Robert Richard Galuarte, 19, of Santa Ana, died in wreckage on Main Street near Sunflower Avenue as police pried him from the car. Naomi Weaver, 20, of Santa Ana, suffered critical injuries, and Catherine Stevens, 28, of El Toro, was involved in the crash. John Kelsey Johnson Jr, 31, of Lakewood, was jailed on drunken driving charges after a chain of collisions at Sunset Beach. Other injuries occurred in Anaheim and Fullerton as residents were treated at Orange County General Hospital. John G Pinedo, 31, of Santa Ana, was jailed after his car struck a pole in Garden Grove.
