Harriet Henson was charged with four counts of murder in the Chester massacre. The 30 year old former paramour of Jack Santo allegedly bludgeoned grocer Gard Young, his two daughters Judy and Jean, and neighbor Michael Saile on October 15 1952 as Young returned from the bank. Young’s third daughter Sandra survived injuries. Henson implicated Santo and Emmett Perkins. both are linked to other hearings.

Giant plane flips at Vancouver airport crash lands
A Royal Canadian Air Force North Star with 51 aboard survived a crash landing at Vancouver International Airport after engine trouble forced a return flight from Vancouver to Edmonton. The four engine plane carried 43 passengers, two women, two children, and crew of ten. Two were injured as the aircraft caught fire but flames were extinguished within minutes. Tankers Hit in Fog as Two Vessels Collide on Delaware River
In fog on the Delaware River two tanker ships the Atlantic Dealer and the Atlantic Engineer collided causing fires. At least six crew members were killed and eleven of forty one aboard the Atlantic Dealer were thrown into the river with three still missing. Four named dead include Joseph F Vogt and John L Waller. Rescue ships recovered bodies and crews contained fires rapidly. Both ships were en route to Philadelphia with cargoes of crude oil gasoline and refined products.

Man Plunges to Death From Ten Floors in Los Angeles
Police said Are Knight, 31, of Ohio, died after descending from the 10th floor of a downtown Los Angeles hotel. He allegedly left the bar, entered the lightwell shaft, climbed five stories to a friend's room, removed most clothes, then wandered the roof before leaping.
