POW List Update Reveals Names From Allied Forces
A continuing Allied POW list records service members across divisions and camps from Pyok Bong to Chiang Song and Pyok Dong. The Department of Defense warns it cannot vouch for the list's accuracy and casualty status remains unchanged. The compiled entries include ranks from private to major and show next of kin addresses across California to New Jersey and beyond.

Rain storms flood Southland as 1950s flood fears rise
Rain set a five year record across the Southland causing floods from Palos Verdes to Puente Creek. Engineers kept emergency crews on alert as the Howard Hughes plant flooded isolating Culver City while Venice lifeguards rescued residents. Most dams held but runoff was low despite widespread damage and phone outages affected Burbank and coastal zones.

Freed Airmen Recall 14 Day Hungarian Interlude
Four U S airmen recount a C 47 forced landing over Hungary and their military court trial on December 23. They were fined 30 000 dollars each, told of possible 90 day imprisonment, and released after payment as western nations viewed the move as ransom. They described interrogations, garbled charges, and Russian guards as they fled toward Austria with the case ending after payments.
