Smog Study in Southland Reveals Complex Causes
In Los Angeles and surrounding counties researchers report smog results from multiple sources, including gasoline fumes and auto exhaust. Dr A J Haa gersmit of Caltech says 2000 tons of gasoline fumes daily mix with nitrogen oxides, while SRI findings suggest smog forms simultaneously across the basin, not from a single point source.
