Leg Injury Curtails Citation's Schedule
Citation, the premier race horse, will rest for three months after a hot spot on a leg found after the Tanforan Handicap. Trainer Jimmy Jones says a Florida vacation and rest will precede a spring return, with two $100,000 races he had been aiming for at Santa Anita now unlikely. Owner Warren Wright to approve the plan, as the sport anticipates the wide open maturity race. Willie Molter set a season win record at Tanforan, while Cable Car won the feature under Gordon Glisson.
