State seeks injunction to tie up Long Beach tidelands oil funds
California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown sought a preliminary injunction in Los Angeles to impound about 100 million dollars of Long Beach tidelands oil revenues. The move aims to protect the state’s share from the Malon Supreme Court ruling while preserving funds for city needs. The dispute centers on which city funds would hold the money and whether the injunction would cripple the Harbor Department.
