Dixon Yates Power Plan Scrutiny At SEC Hearing
South South Utilities and Southern Company seek SEC approval to form Mississippi Valley Generating Co to finance a 107 million dollar private plant in West Memphis feeding TVA lines to AEC. Tennessee opponents including K. D. Nichols and Joseph Volpe seek party interest stakes and potential subpoenas. Public debate centers on interlocked control and potential legal conflicts with the Public Utility Holding Company Act.
