Los Angeles authorities hold Lyle W. Jorgenson, a parolee once jailed for rape, on suspicion of kidnapping two Girl Scouts from Highland Park. The victims, Kathy Kerr and Mary Ann Keller, identified him. one girl was released after 90 minutes, another nearby two blocks from the pickup.

Bus Drivers OK Pact No Strike
Bus drivers for Metropolitan Coach Lines and Asbury Rapid Transit Lines voted 405 to 375 to accept a two year contract ending the strike threat that would have disrupted service in four Southern California counties. The deal gives a 10 cent raise now, 5 cents next June, wage reopeners in 1956 and 1957, and raises wages to 2.01 an hour plus six holidays with time and a half, a union shop, and vacation changes.

Two Pennsylvania railroad freight trains collided head on near Edensburg Pa. killing at least three crewmen and injuring at least four others.
