Motorist pinned in wreck near Santa Fe Avenue
Eddy I. Boydston, 27, of 1883 Trams Boyd Manor, was pinned under his car for about an hour after a collision with a Roberts Tank Line truck at 5 10 this morning on 22nd Street and Santa Fe Avenue. Rushed to Seaside Hospital with forehead cuts and head injuries, he escaped serious harm. The truck, operated by Gus B. Witherell, 57, of 2010 W Palm Street, rolled east on 22nd Street and struck Boydston’s southbound car, knocking a signal out of order a hauler yard stop sign and a telephone pole before Boydston could be freed. Fire crews from Engine Co 14 freed him after 65 minutes.
