Route 101 Crashes Injure Six in Orange County Night
A sequence of three Coast Highway crashes in Orange County Friday night and early today left six injured, two gravely. The first wreck at 8:20 p.m. involved William Meehan and Lt. Cmdr. Ellsworth Richards, with two others injured, and a separate 12:35 a.m. tangle near Newport Beach damaged four cars and a truck. A later collision near Huntington Beach injured two more, including Marines from El Toro and Camp Pendleton, with one vehicle run off the road into a parked car.

Forged Card Writer Tied to Bank Robbery Suspect
FBI charged Richard Alex Fitch, 39, of Lynwood with bank robbery after a bank note demanded 1500 dollars and a forged credit card were linked to him by fingerprints and handwriting. Fitch, a former inmate of San Quentin and Folsom, was identified by Det. Sgt. Arthur Thomas and turned over to federal prosecutors for trial.

Razor Wielder Pleads Guilty and Pays Fine
Barber Gerald J. O'Steen of Long Beach Boulevard pleaded guilty to menacing a postal clerk with a straight-edge razor. He was fined 100 dollars or 10 days in jail, placed on six months probation, and later paid the fine after a Friday appearance before Municipal Judge Frank C. Charvat.
