Jets Will Raid Virginia Beach In Amphibious Exercise
Lt Col Marion E Carl will lead 12 Navy Phantom Interceptors in an amphibious assault on Virginia Beach on August 20 as part of Operation Camid II. The exercise includes 167 Navy, line and Air Force craft to simulate amphibious warfare for cadets and midshipmen. Phantom jets are jet propelled carrier fighters with a top speed over 500 mph and a 6.7 mile service ceiling.
