Tooth Decay Cut 90 Percent Immunity Tested Five Years
In Boston on August 5 four Texas dentists reported a chemical solution may render children almost totally immune to tooth decay, claiming it as effective as sodium fluoride. Dr Bernhard Gottlieb of Baylor University presented five years of limited testing showing 90 percent immunity, using zinc chloride and potassium ferrocyanide. He advised three treatments yearly for children as soon as permanent teeth appear, noting the solution blocks tiny channels in teeth that let bacteria enter to cause decay.
