Western Air Stipend Cut in 1944 46 Period
The Civil Aeronautics Board granted Western Air Lines temporary mail compensation of 3,449,879 dollars for May 11, 1944, to December 31, 1946. The amount is 467,482 dollars less than an October 1951 order which had not offset Western's 447,000 dollar profit from selling a route against mail pay. The Supreme Court later overruled that decision. Western had sold the Los Angeles to Denver route to United Air Lines.
