Senators Demand Full Disclosure On Arms For Europe Plan
In Washington, a push grew in the Senate to strip secrecy from the proposed arms for Europe program. Senators Morse and Ferguson urged disclosure of all facts and military costs, with Secretary Acheson to present a confidential report to the foreign relations committee. Officials note first-year costs around 1.25 billion dollars as details remain secret. The committee may decide Thursday when to lift secrecy and hold hearings, with ratification timing a consideration.
