Next A-Bomb Blast to Test Model Town
LAS VEGAS New A-Bomb blast will test a model town to demonstrate atomic attack effects. An explosive force of 25 000 to 30 000 tons of TNT will be unleashed at 3 20 a m EDT April 26 from a 500 foot tower at Yucra Flat. About 50 fifty ton General Patton tanks will stand 3 100 yards away with troops, civil defense officials in trenches 3 300 yards distant. A dozen houses, five radio stations and other utilities will be placed to simulate an American town and endure the blast.
