A 21-year-old boy, Bobby Smith, was overcome by smoke while lying in his crib beside a burning couch in an upstairs apartment at 647 Locust Ave. Firefighters revived him and he was taken to Seaside Hospital with first-degree burns. The fire's origin was not yet determined. The Smith child, son of Bob and Kathryn Smith, resides with his great grandmother Mrs. F. W. Nofziger at the apartment.
