Grace Kelly and Hollywood Queens Marriages to Foreign Royalty
A retrospective look at Hollywood stars who wed foreign royalty or European nobles, noting many unions short lived or dissolved. Grace Kelly's 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier is contrasted with Rita Hayworth, Ingrid Bergman, Olivia de Havilland and others who married princes or countesses abroad. The piece cites jet set allure, lavish gifts, and the pattern of brief marriages to foreign nobility as historical trend.
