Fate of Draw Poker Up to Senate Again
SACRAMENTO AP It was up to the Senate to day for the third time in four years to decide the fate of draw poker clubs in California. Assemblyman Jesse M Unruh won 35 9 Assembly approval of his bill for outlaw commercial poker rooms saying the chances of Senate passage appear better this year. The measure leaves sociable games at home. The Assembly in 1951 and 1953 voted to ban draw poker generally but bills never progressed beyond the Senate Governmental Efficiency Committee.
