Two Injured in Rainy Pico Avenue Crash
In a two car collision at Pico Ave and Seventh St in the rain early today two people were injured. Mrs Arvan K Bolls 23 of 820 Width St San Pedro suffered possible internal and back injuries while John Marcum 22 an enlisted man had a fractured nose. Mrs Bolls was held for observation at Seaside Hospital while Marcum rode as a passenger in a car driven by Mary enlisted man William Hirte 23.

Policeman stamps, mails lost letters in Los Angeles
A Los Angeles man’s four letters found yesterday by Officer John F. Clausson on Cedar Avenue between Ocean Boulevard and Broadway were ready to mail except for stamps. Clausson purchased stamps and sent the letters on, bearing the return address of Claude C. Croft at 2961 Fletcher Drive.

Cpl Skoglund Killed in Korea In Telegram to Kin
Cpl Donald Skoglund, age 22, was killed in action in Korea, a telegram from Washington, D. C. notified his mother Mrs. S. A. Skoglund of 300 E Arbor Street yesterday. Born April 24, 1931 in this city, he attended Jane Addams Elementary Lindbergh Junior High Jordan High and John Dewey Continuation High before enlisting May 28, 19 68. He served with the 2nd Engineers Combat Battalion and was a Jordan High ROTC member. He was promoted to corporal on February 16.

City Contract Let for Pump Station North of Pacific Coast Hwy
The city manager's office set a pump station contract to Charles A. Duko Associates for a S161687 drain pump station north of Pacific Coast Highway beside the Los Angeles River flood control channel. City funds around S123, N90 with the state covering S31, to serve a north side storm drain west of the flood channel. As the Long Beach Freeway extends north, additional pumps will be installed to handle drains from the residential area and freeway, with Dutra of Long Beach slated to start within 10 days and about seven months for completion.
