Royal News From Windsor to Weymouth and Beyond
Yesterday the King’s Messenger set off from the Secretary of State for Sir Morton Eden at Vienna. Royal Family members rode to Frogmore as gardens were praised for their beauty. The Prince of Orange avoided horseback riding in Windsor. The royal party plans a stop at Hartford Bridge on the Weymouth route, with arrival near nine Monday morning. Dispatches mention captures by Sir John Warren’s squadron and reports from Halifax about prizes taken from South America. The fleet news includes East India returns, potential battles with the Dutch and Spanish fleets, and preparations at Cadiz and Gibraltar. The Navy’s mutiny inquiry looms, copper coinage trials proceed, and political shifts in France and Britain's governance are noted.
