In Dublin Fan the Right Hon. Lieutenant-General Thomas Pearce was interred at Christ Church with military honours. Pall-bearers included Viscount Molesworth Sempill and Generals Naper Parker. Pearce’s corpse later moved to Connoybrooke Church for burial. Also reports the marriage of Councilor Fitz-Gibbon to Elinor Groves, noted for beauty merit and fortune.
Reports from Holland say the two masted Dutch East India ship was driven ashore on Zealand during a deadly storm in Scotland. Ninety crew members perished, including a concealed woman sailor who had served many years aboard the vessel. Only about fifteen souls reached shore.
