Lompoc Trustees Hire Cowan to Aid Superintendent Search

The Lompoc Unified School District trustees will hire Dr. James Cowan, superintendent of Ventura County Schools, as a consultant to recruit and select Wegner’s replacement. A 3:30 p.m. meeting in the Central Administration Building will plan a recruitment brochure, forms, and ca st negotiations with a goal to name a new superintendent by January 28, 1975.

Services are pending at Gregory McPeek Mortuary for Nancy Hixson 66 who died yesterday at Vandenberg AFB hospital. Funeral for Helen Ruth Clark 55 is set tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Starbuck Mortuary Chapel with Garth N. Smith officiating. interment at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs Clark died Friday at Lompoc District Hospital. Ethel Horn Smith rites set after San Luis Obispo death

Ethel Melvina Horn Smith died Friday night in a San Luis Obispo hospital. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery. She leaves husband Alden L. Smith, two sons, a grandson, siblings, and numerous relatives. Memorials may go to the Lompoc Valley Historical Society or local Cancer Society. Arrangements by Starbuck Mortuary.
