The County Water Advisory Committee voted 5-3 to endorse a five year plan of estimated county water needs for state project water. It sets 1985 demand at 20 000 acre feet rising by 10 000 acre feet each decade to 57 700 by 2006 with a shift of full entitlement to 199 rather than 2000.
County taxpayers reportedly told Tax Collector Newton Blanchard they will not pay 1975 property taxes. Hal Burnett, a leader of a citizen tax reform group, has left such messages, but Blanchard’s office has not received any formal letters. Burnett described a grass roots movement forming locally.
