Final approval for Lockheed loan guarantee

Washington reports final approval of a 250 million dollar loan guarantee for Lockheed Aircraft Corp. A three member board including Connally Arthur Burns and the SEC chair voted unanimously to back private loans to complete the Tristar Jumbo jet project amid prior military contract reversals.

Lompoc Driver Cleared of Manslaughter Charges

Daniel Gueverra Trejo, 21, driver of the car that killed Ivory Lee Turner Jr. and his son Sean on College Avenue last July 31, is freed after a judge ruled he was legally unconscious at the time. The court dismissed manslaughter and reckless driving charges though Trejo had epilepsy history and was injured. Deputy Evan J. Fore and Mrs. Gwendolyn Turner were among the injured.

Federal injunction sent to Attica prison to curb reprisals

A federal court order barring reprisals was delivered to Attica State Correctional Facility where about 30 hostages remained in two cellblocks. State Correction Commissioner Russell G. Oswald announced the injunction as authorities sought to end the Thursday insurrection at the maximum security prison.

Lompoc Dam project faces new set back in debate
